A blessing for Micah

Our little Micah was blessed today.
Finally!
He is 3 months old now, so a little older than when we usually bless our babies (Justin had a couple of out-of-town work trips last month that interrupted blessing plans). But it all worked out, and he received a beautiful blessing today from his handsome daddy.

We did his blessing on a Saturday because our ward is gigantic.
Almost 800 members.
Crazy!
Just to run a few stats...
We have over 250 kids in our primary.
We have 2 Elders Quorums.
We fill our chapel, entire gym and part of the Relief Society room every Sunday.
So you can understand why the Bishopric requested that baby blessings be held outside of sacrament.

I had never heard of that before, but it actually turned out to be really cool. We held a short meeting, and it was all about Micah. Makenzie gave a stellar talk about our Heavenly Father's plan for us and how Micah fits into that, then Micah was blessed, and then Justin and I bore our testimonies. Short and sweet. And then we ate and visited with family and friends. It was so fun!

Love. this. picture!!

Absolutely adore my sweet little Mikey.

Proud (and smitten) parents.

 All 6!
Can you even believe we have 4 kids??  Come to find out, when you have four kids, you do things like go to Target the day before your baby's blessing to buy your oldest son a nice, new white shirt so he can look awesome at the blessing, only to not try it on him until you're headed out the door. And then you forget his tie. Sorry, Jares! You will grow into the shirt, I promise. ;)

 Snuggles with Grandpa Heli.

Close up of the sweet baby cuteness.

And now for friends and family. I went around and took pictures of people while they were eating. Don't you hate that?? Sorry, guys. :)
I'm sad I missed some people, but here's a good chunk of the crew:

Uncle Jake, Aunt Amanda, and cousin Sam. This kid is so adorable.

Uncle Devin and Aunt Candace.

Uncle Clayton, Aunt Amanda and kids.

Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Joey (hehe don't you wish your kids had an Uncle Joey? I'm sure the jokes about it don't get old at all).

The Arevalo/Fernandez fams, our good friends from our old ward.

Fatu and Shellise (Justin's cousin).

Kids' table.
(L-R: my friend Shannon's two boys Davin & Weston, cousin Kanyon, Makenzie, Makai (Fatu & Shellise's son))

Justin's dad and my dad chatting.

And let's not forget this cutie. :) Kyle was having a blast.

Justin's friend/boss Fidel and his son Tane. Justin gets mistaken for Fidel all the time at work. I'm so glad they get to work together. They are such a cool family!

My dear friend Shannon (also our last minute pianist, thanks, Shan!) and Fidel's lovely wife Nancy. These two ladies had baby boys on the exact same day, 8 days before Micah was born.

Justin's friend Sape, who he works with. Funny guy with an awesome wife who was sick and couldn't make it. Good people!

Three generations.

Everybody.

Tiff said I had to take a picture of my efforts.

And last but not least, a shot with his Grandma Carla.

It was a wonderful day with friends and family, who came out to see Micah's blessing despite tons and tons of snow! We love our family and friends!
